The challenge
Wētā Workshop’s online store sat on an old, outdated ecommerce platform with no real modern ecommerce features that enabled long-term success.
The business was experiencing significant demand and Wētā engaged us to rebuild their website on a platform that can scale with them and easily accommodate new strategies like personalised user experiences. Adobe Commerce was the easy choice.
What we did
The initial project utilised a lot of out-of-the-box features with some customisations to bring about more customer friendly experience unique to Wētā Workshop. These features included:
- Payment plans for pre-order products
- Wētā Dollars, a points system that allows customers to earn from orders and redeem to subsidise future purchases
The results
Soon after the launch of the new website, the Wētā team quick to point out the time and effort saved with amended processes around the capabilities of Adobe Commerce.
With the potential of the platform realised by the team, conversations about new initiatives began.
